Brain, Cognition & Behaviour

Our work stands at the intersection of neuroscience, cognitive, and behavioural psychology. We share our expertise and enthusiasm with over 800 students, making the school one of the largest centres for psychological research and teaching in the UK.

We're international (in the last RAE, 85% of the school's activity was judged to be of international standard), cosmopolitan (30% of our postgrads are from outside the UK), and friendly.

Teaching

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as short courses for professionals.

Undergraduate: BSc single and combined honours courses in psychology and applied psychology are available, both of which have been recognised by the British Psychological Society as providing a Graduate Basis for Chartered Psychology Status (GBC).

Postgraduate: We have a strong postgraduate community with around 35 PhD students and 20 MSc students. We welcome applications from the UK, EU and overseas.

Our placements scheme is distinctive among UK psychology courses: a significant proportion of our students spend their third year working alongside professional psychologists in the NHS, prisons service and elsewhere. More about placements
